Tailing Red

36x48 Acrylic on Stretched Canvas with Aqua Green Gallery Wrap Border

What person who has ever fished can say they are not moved to some emotion when they see the fish they are trying to catch slip away from their grasp? What person can say they have not dreamed about what unseen life the fish they have caught has lived and/or will live when they decide to release that fish which has just been caught? We can’t see the fish, yet we know they live. For some reason, water color seems to be key for an active fish bite oftentimes. People who fish coastal waters often talk about water clarity, always searching for good green water, much like that depicted in this painting. This piece is painted from the perspective above the water as the tail of a redfish is partially submerged while the fish slips back into the green of its mostly unseen world.
